Double celebration at “The Hangman” Premiere

After a long hiatus, NRI producer Bipin Patel’s film “The Hangman” was finally premiered in Cinemax, Andheri. Akshar Media Production’s forthcoming film “The Hangman” is directed by debutant Vishal Bhandari starring Om Puri, Shreyas Talpade, Gulshan Grover, Smita Jayakar, Tom Alter etc. The music of the film is composed by trio Siddharth, Suhas and Chandresh.

The premiere of the film was a special one for Shreyas Talpade as “The Hangman” is Shreyas’s debut film that too in English language and it was his birthday too. The release of the film got stuck and hence, Shreyas made his debut in “Iqbal”. Dressed in casuals, Shreyas Talpade came for the premiere with his wife Deepti who was looking gorgeous in a purple dress.

The star-studded premiere was also attended by the “unlikely hero” Om Puri who came along with his wife Nandita Puri. The veteran actor was sporting an interesting T-shirt probably hinting at the current Marathi-North Indian issues in Mumbai. Bollywood’s “bad manGulshan Grover who is playing the “good man” in “The Hangman” was mobbed by the media for the role he is playing in the upcoming film.

Tom Alter came along with his daughter while producer Bipin Patel was spotted with his family and with more than 20 friends who especially come from USA. Smita Jayakar who is playing Shreyas’s mother (Parvati) in the film made a late entry. Seems like her on-going soap “Main Ghar Ghar Kheli” is keeping her too busy. Amrita Bedi who is making her debut in the film was also seen in the premiere dressed up simply.

A story of 1970, “The Hangman” is an unusual drama film set which deals with the emotional impact of a hangman's profession on the protagonist, his wife and his son.
