 As the FIFA World Cup is all set to start from 12 June, if you remember, in the last World Cup's final between Spain and Netherlands, who was the hero of the match? It was none other than Andres Iniesta, who scored the only goal in the extra time just 4 minutes before the end of the match.   

The same maverick, Andres Iniesta will be visiting Delhi after he's done with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, to promote his wine Bodega Iniesta in India, according to what Lorenzo Enrique Medina, his company's export manager, said in his recent visit to Delhi to meet Indian partner Rajbir Singh that Iniesta is very keen to visit Delhi, Agra to see the Taj Mahal and some super stars of Hindi film. 

Rajbir Singh said, "During the shooting of the calendar of Andres in Barcelona with Balma girl Claudia,he was so interested to come to India but due to hectic La-Liga matches, he could not make it but now hopefully after World Cup 2014, he will have some time in August to visit and promote his wine 116 minute,this is most popular brand after his goal on 116 minute in the final " In India, many film stars are also huge football fans. When asked if he was inviting them to meet Andres, Rajbir said, "Yes I know, Shahrukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, John Abraham and even Dhoni is a big fan of football and I want to invite all of them for the gala dinner party though I don't have any direct connection but some how I will invite them for sure. 

Rajbir said He also plans to invite Baichung Bhutia and Sunil Chhetri after all they are our best football players, he said, "My fingers are crossed and hopefully Spain will win again this World Cup and if so happens, then his visit will be memorable.

Friendly cricket match between singers and actors

It was a superb Friday night for many singers and a few actors for playing a T20 night cricket match full of enthusiasm.

In the actors' team, led by director of forthcoming film 'Desi Kattey', Anand Kumar, were Suniel Shetty, Jay Bhanushali, Akhil Kapur among others and in the singers' team, led by non player captain Kailash Kher, were Shaan, Meiyang Chang, Papon, Paresh & Naresh Kamath, Ravi Tripathi.

The cheering squad of guests included Sasha Agha, Sachin Gupta, Atul Pandey, Akriti Kakkar, Sheetal Kher with son Kabeer, among others.

Every one seemed to be in a very jolly mood and winning or losing did not matter. All that was important was to get together, spend some quality time and have fun, amidst a lot of posing and candid photography.

"This match will be remembered for a long time", said Kailash Kher. Suniel Shetty said, "I've been playing CCL since long but this singers-actors  match is amazing fun and I have told Kailash that we should have more of such matches."

First international seminar on IVF and surrogacy

During an international seminar regarding IVF and surrogacy, Egypt's renowned Doctor Hassan Sallam said, "IVF and surrogacy are more important in your country and mine, as well as our neighbours because family name and ancestry is still present here. Running the family becomes the responsibility of the oldest person in the family, whether it's a man or a woman. In such a scenario, it's more than important that there is someone to keep the name of the family running. So I fear that this facility will be misused and it's important that rules and regulations are laid out immediately." Dr Sallam has a lot of expectations from the new Modi government, as do various other countries, that he will do great work.

According to the successful host of the first international seminar highlighting IVF & surrogacy, Dr.Rita Bakshi, "We doctors support the idea that every surrogate mother should be given at least 2.5 to 3 lacs so that she can take care of herself properly." She believes that the new Modi government will soon make rules for the betterment of surrogate mothers. About the success of the seminar, Dr.Bakshi said, "Looking at the success that this seminar has turned out to be, we're thinking of hosting it annually."     

According to well known AIIMS Doctor Alka Kripalani, 15% of the world’s population is infertile and requires help for becoming parents. We are here to discuss the PATH TO PARENTHOOD which is the theme of the conference “International Conference on reproduction, Fertility & Surrogacy”. There may be a number of reasons why a couple can’t conceive and to overcome that came the concept of IVF/Test tube baby where a woman’s eggs were taken out from her body and mixed with her husband’s sperms to make an embryo or a baby and after seeing it grown in the lab for 3 – 5 days it is put back into the woman’s uterus (if it is normal) or another woman’s uterus (SURROGATE) if it is diseased or absent."

According to her, like various other countries, it is most important for us to decrease the cost of IVF to the minimum so that poor people can also afford to have children, as well as, the success rate of IVF also increases. Only then will it be useful for so many renowned Doctors to come and talk about this topic in this seminar, we're hopeful of that."

Actor-Director Rahul Vohra was conferred with the top French honour

Actor-Director Rahul Vohra was conferred with the top French honor Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) in New Delhi recently.

According to a statement, Francois Richier, Ambassador of France to India, bestowed the French government's honour on the noted artiste for his contribution to cinema and theatre.

Present at the simple yet moving investiture were an eclectic mix of close family and several personalities including Sandeep and Mona Diskshit, Latika Diskshit, Cultural Icon Rajeev Sethi, Designer Amardeep Behl, Indian Ocean’s Rahul Ram, Mona Irani with her mother and her daughter Shanelle and Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar

The honour is given to persons who have distinguished themselves by their creativity in the field of art, culture and literature or for their significant contribution to the arts in France and throughout the world.

Rahul, a senior member and actor of Delhi-based theater group Chingari, has been an actor for Indian and foreign theater and feature film and documentary film productions, advertisements, and television shows and has performed in almost 40 cities across the world.

A founding co-ordinator of Sarthi, a voluntary body addressing basic issues related to artists and artisans, he has directed and managed productions with troupes of performing artists and craftspersons from all across the country.

He has also been an artistic consultant for several French film and television productions, and established an independent performing arts and production company Apostrophe 99.

Among popular films, he was seen in entertainers like "Monsoon Wedding", "Raghu Romeo", "Swades", "Pyaar Impossible!" and "Bheja Fry 2" and is also known for his memorable role in the musical “Bharati”
